Daedacus

"Having discovered the means to step between worlds I now go to see what may be seen. Let worlds tremble beneath my boot steps, For Telnor is come." Excerpt from the Draconomicon Telnor, master mage in both necromancy and shadow magic, has tread upon too many worlds to count. In his wake have been left cities ruined, towns burnt, and even one world left barren of all life. If there is one thing this mage understands, it is the pursuit of power. From the nightmare realm of Ravenloft (where he gained both his staff and his robes) to the furtile shores of Faerun (where he has journeyed through both Myth Drannor and UnderMountain), the man known as Telnor Draconisis has begun a nonstop search for the power which will lead him back to his homeworld of Daedacus. Within these pages will be found accounts of his journeys and listing of new things he has created or discovered. Use wisely what you find within for Telnor is a jealous man and quick to anger. And it is never a wise idea to anger a man who will not only kill you, but bring your body back to serve under him. You hath been warned by one who knows."Trizixeter Van'Larrenru

BackGround: Born of unknown parentage, Telnor grew up the slave of one mage or another within his clan. His only release from the drudgery of each day was the study of magic. His every minute was spent in pursuit of more and more magical knowledge. During his 14th year of life, Telnor (who had already reached third level) was introduced to his replacement, a young woman named Lusica. Forced to show her how to perform his duties, Telnor seethed with anger knowing his end might be near should she ever succeed him. A week into her stay, the young mage, for the first time in his life fell in love. After teaching her for a month, the young mage hung on her every word until the day he found her dead, drained in a spell cast by his master. In a burst of rage the young Telnor strangled his master. Fearing discovery he escaped the master's home (with a spellbook and a few choice items) taking her body with him for a proper burial. To better prepare himself for his new found freedom, young Telnor took to seclusion in the vast barrier peaks along the Black Sands dessert. There he gained greater talent (and levels) in the magical arts from various sources, the greatest being the Drow nomads called the Dubloth. As his prowess in the magical arts grew, so did Telnor's desire for greater and greater power. In order to gain this, Telnor worked hard to establish a power base in each and every city he could. Using dozens of disguises, Telnor is known all across the planet. In Hillsflat he is known as Ronlet Nocard owner of the Needful Things shop, in Rykill he is known as Horgel fine distributor of silver, and the list goes on. In each city he harbors groups dedicated to following his orders (Scully and the black knives in Hillsflat). During one trip Telnor first encountered another dimension. The learning that other dimensions existed lead him to study dimensional travel. Secluding himself for ten years, Telnor studied, practiced and learned everything he could and a scourge known across the plains was given birth. Telnor has moved his operations and machinations on a multitude of dimensions and planes. Including faerun, Krynn, Daedacus, the plane of shadow, and jaunts to limbo and the abyss. Telnor's desires and drives revolve around gaining more personnel power. He is not driven by his emotions (which some say he has lost over the many long years) and is very logical in his actions. Telnor is not one to just jump into something and concise planning is involved in everything he does. Telnor values himself over anything else, and will do anything in his power to survive, even sacrificing others in his place. Telnor's greatest item, his staff was crafted in the hopes of transferring his spirit to undeath in the case he ever died (indeed in a chance meeting with his future self [actually already a lich] Telnor learned his preparations were not in vain.
